Post subject:  Fuel bowl gasket for Holley1920

Hi,
I am playing around with jetting and need a couple spares or a good quality reusable gasket. Does anyone know if they are available seperately...auto parts stores are telling me I have to buy a carb rebuild kit to get it....Thanks for your help! Nico

I have never been able to buy them seperately. Go to autozone or wherever, and buy a roll of cork/rubber gasket material that you can cut up. Then take you old gasket, make a template, and cut as many new ones as you like! The cork/rubber composite is the same stuff that they use in the kit, so the only difference will be that it is hand-cut.

I got a couple of those gaskets from Napa a few years ago. Maybe check their site (www.napaonline.com) to see if you can still get them. A trick I picked up years ago is to rub some chapstick over the gasket before installing it. Doing this will keep the gasket from tearing when you take the float bowl off. Dosn't last forever, but it will give you a few ons and offs before needing a new gasket.

I buy the 1920 Holley gaskets in bulk from ........
JOES CARBURETORS INCORPORATED, 425-774-5504. 5516 Pl Sw 186th Lynnwood, WA 98036

Great guys! and they have all the parts you might want. You don't find shops like this very often...... :D

One trick they showed me to keep the gasket from tearing, is to use a little synthetic oil on each side before installation. I have had the current one off over 30 times and it is like brand new! I always oil it lightly on each installation after a jet change. A jet change takes about 3 minutes and I am running again.
