Thanks Dan for the advice on getting the good gaskets. Ordered a set and they were delivered in a week to Michigan. Great communication from Nev and a fair price! Can't wait to get the exhaust on this /6.

Remflex vs. Aussie

Which are better?

Both are good quality gaskets, probably about equal, but I tend to throw my support behind the Australian outfit. Not only do they ship the gaskets to North America lightning fast and cost-effectively, but they are also developing high-tech head gaskets for multiple versions of the slant-6, and I like to support them in that effort (not only sending them $$ for manifold gaskets, but also demonstrating to them that slant-6ers are a big enough market to make parts for).

I have used both the Aussie and the RemFlex. The RemFlex is very thick and can seal even if you have a few imperfections. You should regrind or mill the surfaces for the best sealing however, if you don't do a good job of cleaning up or milling the joint between the manifolds, the RemFlex will still seal.

If your manifolds or header are not quite perfect where they meet the head the RemFlex will seal.

Both companies have very good support.

So's the Aussie. No advantage either way on that score.

i think the dedication the GPRS group have shown the slantsix community world-wide kinda trumps "made-in-the-USA" but canucks are generally a little less patriotic.

at least you hold the opinion that every dollar spent is a vote cast, which is very true... vote with your dollar.

Oh, I donno about that, Step. I've met a lot of very patriotic Canadians.

Less jingoistic, as a rule, yes, but I wouldn't say less patriotic.

I had the Aussie one before. And now I have the REMFLEX. My vote is for the REMFLEX any day of the week.
