Hi. I just did the super six upgrade to my Duster. My problem is that the carb I am using is a bbd from a 318 and the choke tab is wrong. what can be done to make this work? thanks Bob |

Go to a hardware store and buy some solid brass rod of the same diameter as your present choke pushrod (which runs up to the carb from the choke thermostat mounted on the exhaust manifold). Carefully bend up a new choke pushrod with the extra length at the top (after the 90° bend) to connect to the V8 carburetor's choke lever. It is best in a case like this to start with one of the Electric choke kits (#1232) because unlike the original Super-6 choke thermostat, the electric item is adjustable, and you'll likely need to make some adjustment to get the V8 carb to work correctly at cold startup. |
