How do power brakes work with Torbocharged engines? A power brake unit is powered by the vacuam a engine produces, but with a turbo, there would be very little if any vacuam, correct? Do you need to run a vacuam reservoir, or will it work with out? Im thinking of converting to power disc on the Cuda and need to know what Im gonna have to do to make it work with the turbo.

Thanks again.

You are not under boost when you are on the brakes so there is vacumn to run the booster. My turbo Daytona Shelby has a check valve between the manifold and the power brake booster so the booster is not subjected to positive pressure under boost but otherwise it works as any other power brake system.

FYI, my Daytona also has vacumn operated heater/ac controls. Now these do not work while the manifold is under positive pressure but soon as it drops back to a vacumn condition they will. Same for the cruise control. I can't set the cruise unless the manifold is in vacumn but there is enough of a resivor in the cruise control module to maintain the speed for the times the car goes into boost in cruise (ie; uphill). As with the brakes all the other vacumn operated items have check valves to protect them during boost.
