I have always wondered who built this: http://www.slantsix.org/articles/turbo- ... l-side.jpg

Duel Dutra's, twin turbo's. Did it ever run?

Funny I don't recall ever seeing a hand crank orifice on any slant six. How would one start this baby with an A 904 attached...

maybe with a decompression lever like the old 290 cummins had?
or maybe a wind-up inertial starter like the old radial piston engines had? how cool would that be.

This was never built. Doug just mocked this up with parts he had lying around.

That's kinda what I thought. I couldn't see how a starter would fit.

Now if you used the low starter, V-8 trans with the adaptor....
truthfully, there is no good reason to run dual turbos, unless you set them up as sequential with a diversion valve.

Plumb that into the dual 1 barrel manifold you are working on Doug, that would be a neat mockup

what was the point of turning the propeller by hand? Is it some sort of priming?

In that same article there is a picture above that one, is that manifold from a buick turbo coupe? If so how did that one work out?

To move oil to various parts of the engine.

Yeah, like out of the bottom cylinders so they don't hydraulic lock!
