I picked up an engine block yesterday. I spent a couple of hours tearing into it today. It's a cast crank motor (crank casting #3698966), but I can't find a proper casting # on the block. All it has on it is 530-12 and 1667 (this number is on what looks like a plate fastened to the pattern) with the letters AAWJ below it. The pad on the deck behind the alternator has numbers stamped into it, but the area is too grimy to make out any more than 77225. Also, the cam has the numbers 750 just ahead of the first lobe and what looks like C26 behind it. Any idea what cam it is? I'm guessing it's stock for whatever year this motor is from, but who knows? a can of brakleen and a wire brush should clean that pad up real nicely. |
