I'd run about 9.5:1 with that cam and advance the cam 7° to make the intake center line 102° ATDC.

Josh is dead on with what I'd recommend. 101-102 deg centerline is where I'd put it too. Any comp between about 9:1 and 10:1 is good.
I ran essentially this cam with 8.8:1 comp and it worked great with a 2800 stall. You can make good power with that cam and live fine on the street. Benefits from having man trans or 2500+ RPM stall converter automatic.

Thanks for the info guys - the kit is 20 USD more expensive than an 270 erson landed here would cost - that is what I am charged at any rate - and it does include all the other goodies

Hughes dual roler chain here I come!! :D

Stock rockers OK? Guys

How doe it compare to the 270 erson btw in your opinion?

This will be a step hotter than the Erson 270, and better for a performance build, IMHO. Stock rockers will be fine. Sounds like a great deal.

So the slightly longer duration @50 plus slightly higher lift combines for a better HP build even thou the seat to seat is less?

And isky is a well known brand - any cons thath you guys can see?

Taking notes here! I would like a camshaft selection article for Christmas. I know there are a lot of variables - maybe some general guidelines? I think I'm not the only one who would benefit from a tutorial. :D

Oh SO true

I am trying to get the best advantage out of the longram dual weber combined with the long primary tube headers I have planned - IE to get the ram effect to work for me

Home I am on the right track

Josh, Lou and whoever,

What setups would you use with the comp cam 264 and with the erson 270. what would be the expected results of each one for performance, fuel mileage and streetability.

I'm planning a 225 over 30, head shaved .1", dual 32,36's with shorty headers. push button 904 and 3:23 8 1/4 rear. will prolly use 23.5" tires, like 225-50-15. This is for a 2700 to 3000 lb early body Dart vert.

thx in advance.

Is there still a slant six club in Oregon?

Comp 264 or Erson 270 are not much above stock, and can likely be used with a stock converter. 9:1 comp will work well with either. Mileage should be roughly same as stock and will depend more on your other components and tuning.
