Ive seen the flow number on the Clifford vs the Hurricane. The Hurricane won hands down. Now lets see where Mark goes with it.

Flow bench or dyno? If the Hurricane would work on a 7500+ RPM 170 I would be interested.

It will surely be interesting to see how his ET's do.

Personally though, I'm diggin' the hood treatment. Definitely unique and looks great! Care to share a view of the underside?

Only thing I dont like about the Hurracaine is it weighs 14lbs,trust me,there isnt any way I can get the difference in weight off the front of the car.Will post pics next week under car after I get new axels back in.New axels are a a little over a pound heavier than what I had in there.Going to my friends lathe monday to cut down the outside of the stock drums.Think I will trim the backing plates also.Guzzi Mark

Flow bench. I havent had ANY of them on the dyno yet. I want to get all three Clifford, Offy and Hurricane (both styles) on the dyno on my mule engine.

I have a Clifford intake for my 170. The street car has an Offy. My 170's intake ports are now 1.25x1.44" so I'll be checking the ports on the Clifford and probably end up porting them to match. I'd like to test the Hurricane to see if it doesn't make a bit more torque and power at the top end.

Today I have been surfing the net lusting over the Hurricane Manifolds. While viewing the goodies offered at O.S, I see they offer a “Hurricane Pigâ€￾ used in a Hemi 6 manifold, which I assume performs the same function as that Cone you have pictured for the Clifford intake.

Where would one acquire a cone suitable for a Clifford intake, or was it custom made out back at your “Skunk Worksâ€￾?

Secondly, the last time I had my Clifford Intake off, I queried the benefits of installing a divider below the carburetor to separate the manifold into a double three runner device, with half of an "east & west" mounted 4V feeding the front three cylinders & the other half supplying the back three. The general feeling was that it probably wouldn’t make much difference in performance on a street driven car.

How would performance compare between a cone device and a divided plenum? Or perhaps your thoughts on an elongated inverted “Vâ€￾ shaped plenum divider that combines the best of the two device's characteristics; smooth flow, and better signal to the carburetor.

what about just milling/epoxing a aluminium divider right in the middle width wise right where runners 3&4 join, creating a a divided manifold, thoughts ?? I don't see the point of the cone in the mani ?? anyone want to enlighten me lol :)

We have tried all sorts of epoxied in things in Offys and Cliffords. The problem in my mind is NONE of this has been Dynoed. Just a "track" results of switching a manifold and Not retuning the carb or timing dont yield true results. Problem is Dyno time is expensive.
So we Flow test some of it and say its good. Bottom line is the WHOLE combination has to work together. Each engine is different and every car is as well.
Just as Mark is doing here. Work with it until its maxed out and then try something else. Max it out and the another.
