Hello folks,
I haven't been here in a while, other stuff in my life taking priority.
Anyway, my'78 Volare needs some help getting back on the road. Its been sitting with a worn out slant six, the original slant from 1978.
I have a replacement for it, I just have to figure out the logistics as I no longer have a house with a garage.
That's all for now, I'll be back.
Take care everybody!
Wes

I love the bulky, Heavy F bodies. but I think My Fondness of them is passing on to the Pre'67 A Bodies as well.

Good Luck with your projects!

I have the Volare in a storage space, which has plenty of room. The replacement slant six engine is at another location, gotta find someone with a truck to bring it over.
The storage space doesn‘t have a concrete floor, just rocks and dirt, so its gonna be a little more difficult to do the engine swap. Oh well…

Dirt floors can be covered with plywood. Strong enough to roll an engine hoist over.

Do you have a car with a trailer hitch? Hardware store that rent tools often rent pickups fairly cheaply.

Worst case, if the engine isn't too far from your workspace, you could "find" a shopping cart and haul it that way.

Plywood on the ground is what I was considering, so thanks for confirming that Reed.
And actually, a friend with a pickup took me to Home Depot this morning for plywood.
Now I just have to get the replacement slant and a hoist to my storage space.
Its a few miles away tho.
Onward!

Ok, the replacement slant six and engine hoist are now at the storage space.
Thanks to a friend of mine and her truck.
Onward, little by little…

Apologies.
