I pulled the trans from an 83 d150 w/225. I think it's a lock-up 727, it has the 727 pan, 23 splines and the machined journal on the end. The numbers on the pan rail are PK4058384 7677 8444 and there is a 188-1 on the bell housing. My question is, will a rebuild kit from an earlier non lock-up model work with this. I'm a little confused because all the kits i've seen are for 62 -70 or 71 and up. One kit from TCI says it applies to 72 - 81. But regardless of the year none of them ,other than the TCI kit says anything about lock-up vs non. So, could any of these be uses in my trans? If not, any suggestions as to where I can get the correct kit would be appreciated.
