The biggest issue will be getting the head gasket to stay in when you hose it under boost. I thought they were going to get lighter than 3K? |

Thats all???? Could get that for a pass or two If you think about it, Top Fuelers rebuild and replace most of their engines after every run. And some of them don't make it to the 1/8 mile mark before blowing. So, with unlimited funds and parts a guy could run some insane times eventually. You just need it to hold together for 660 feet |

That is the biggest factor. I did'nt say how many passes I was going to make. There is no doubt I will destroy the engine trying to do it, but I am one of those guys. That is the big thing in street racing. The poor guys throw a cam in a stock engine that make 195 hp and then spray it with a 500 shot of nos. I have seen them win a lot of money like that. I have also seen them change engines three or four times in one week. Oh. By the way 1,200 hp would put you in the low to mid eights in a quarter mile in a 3,000 lb. car. |

My calculator says 650hp @3000Lbs. I thought the Duster weighed close to 2800Lbs stock so I don't think you'r too far off on weight. My coworker says that at the local delkperformance shop the Mustang guys are stroking their v6 with the the f150 4.2 cranks and making close to 650 with turbo and close to the numbers your looking for. Hey, if a v6 Mustang can do it anyone can, right? ________ herbalaire vaporizer |
