I want to know how many people would be interested in a turbo kit for there slant six?

What turbo do you want to use?

I could make the kits up but it would be a nonintercooled setup that would included exhaust manifold, and the piping. You supply the turbo and carb. Also I would have to pick a intake that everybody would have to use with the kit. There would be a limit on boost, 10 lbs would be about it, and for the boost retard would most likly be msd or that mite be something that the owner would take care of.
you guys let me know what you want in a turbo kit and I will get one together.

This is a good idea, would you make the manifold out of tube steel?
Make the flange large enough to drill the bolt pattern for different turbos, my bet is that most would start with a common, easy to find TO3 unit then go bigger as they worked with the system.

Getting the Turbo exhaust manifold is the key to making turbo systems available to the "masses".
(I have always wanted to do one out of cast iron but have never had the time to get that project moving)

I would be interested in a kit for my pickup. It would have to be more for low-end and mid-range for towing a race car trailer. Thanks! Dennis

I would be interested in a exhaust manifold with a flange for a standard T03 turbo.

I think that most people would like a modified exhaust manifold with the small turbo flange. I would like to make a flange that would fit different turbos but most do not have the same layout and you mite have problems running the exhaust. I have posted some things over on the .com site also.

I have a T-03 from a Buick GN. It's a .60 A/R. I think it would be perfect for a slant 6. GN's are 3.8L. I also have an intercooler from a GLHS Shelby. It might be alittle small. I'd like to blow all of this through 3 40 DCOE Webers. I imagine the whole thing kind of like a 280Z turbo with a plenum over the carb intakes. I'd also plumb a Blow Off Valve into the plenum back to the turbo intake. Has anyone else tried this? Does it seem reasonable?

the turbo you have will be great on that car, The intercooler is a ok size for what you are doing and just to have a intercooler is a big help what ever the size. The setup sounds soild but I don't know the frist thing about webers, and I blow off valve is a must over 8 lbs of boost.

Count me in! What would you estimate it costing to 'turbo' a slant -- all in total?

I think it would be about 500$ total cost. That includes the parts you buy and the kit. That is if you keep it to a min. with the nice go fast parts.

That sounds more than reasonable. How much guru knowledge would be necessary?

Drooling,

its not that much involved when you think about it. I was thinking about it today and would you be interested in a draw thru setup? This way you would get away from all the carb stuff and you would not have to do the mods on the fuel system.

I would buy a manifold to mount up a T03 60 ar in a second. I already have the parts for a swap in, but no manifold and little fabbing skill to buy one. Definitly count me in!
