Well my motors out and disasembled for repairs (just got it done, lost all the oil, along with the bearings).Putting it back together to attend Mopars at the strip in March. If I don't blow the thing to pieces I'm planning on a gear change, lowering and diffrent wheels/tires and going to Bonneville with it in Aug.Have any of you other guys gone? Would anyone be interested in going? Bringing your cars?I ordered a copy of the rule book.Checked it out online , looks pretty straight forwards. I think it would be cool to get some slant cars on the salt. :?

I have wanted to go for about 10 yrs and never made it. Can't say I want to get my rust free cars full of salt, but maybe I'd be willing. Would be great just to go. I could help out with pit duties and tuning...

I have been there 2 times over the years... just to watch or "crew" for another driver.

Someday... it would be fun to actually drive a car "down the black line" but I would really want to do a dedicated land speed car for that.

Exner Geek has had the white car out there. They have a special course they will let non racers run on. He said it was a real PITA to get all the salt out of it.

There used to be a feller by the name of Day who had quite a run on the salt.

I went with a friend in 1959. He let me make a couple of passes with his car. A Kurtis "Indy" roadster, with a GMC blown Pontiac V-8. He went a little over 200 mph, and I managed a little under 200 (2 way average).
