I'm finally working on installing the deep pan with baffles. The pickup tube I received with it still needs to be longer. The pan is just shy of 2" deeper than normal. The pickup tube is about an inch longer than stock.

Does anybody have or know where I can get a pickup tube two inches longer to get the pickup down where it belongs?

You're going to need some tubing. This is a cut and weld project.

You might have to try one from a Van or truck motor since it has to reach the front or rear sump...use a torch to heat up and be firm on re-bending.

CJ,

You dont need a longer pickup, or even two pickups.

You can go those routes, But I feel this is more simple

Just get some 3/8" Black Pipe from the harware store, measure correctly ANd add in the correct length of pipe to your pickup. Welding required.

Here is a pictorial of how to - at the bottom of the page.

I've got a couple of pick-up tubes, so I'll get started tomorrow. My biggest concern would be pin hole leaks, so I'd better park the MIG and break out the gas gear.

I'll have to get out to the shop with my camera. I don't have any shots of the reciprocating assembly of my Stroker.

Thanks for the link Greg! I took too long making my reply and didn't see that you had posted. Interesting. I'll dig around the shop and see what I have floating around out there.

I cut and threaded mine. Then used a coupling to extend mine the 1" I needed.
Just another approach.

dont know why you didnt ask me??LOL
What we did on mine( the one you NOW own)was thread in a one inch piece of pipe, then a coupler over it......then threaded the pickup into it.
I would not advise cutting and welding.......think of the crap that will be inside and out of site once you weld it up.......maybe it comes loose.......maybe not!!

I always use 3/8 NPT nipple and coupler with some locktite. Never any problems with >4 pickup configs and no welding.
