Started tearing apart the Daytuna today so we can start on the front end next weekend. Instead of posting all the pics on here, here's a link to my thread on Moparts. Enjoy. :D

I updated the thread on Moparts today. Made some good progress, only a minor surprise, but not too hard to fix.

Zilla , thanks for the pics! A friend of mine runs a 93 Daytona with a 572 ICH engine. Don't know much about this car as I have not been racing with him in a loooong time. If you are ever down this way let me know. I'm sure he would not mind showing it to ya!

Thanks guys. Yes, I have a day job.

When this is all done there will be a lot more room under the hood, and hopefully it will no longer look like a car built by a bunch of unemplyed hilljacks.

wvenable- Is that the ICH Daytona or Rick Allison's? (A&A Transmissions)

I think they are different cars. :?

Thanks for the pics/link, Dennis. I need to talk to Mike again about a Kearney date before or during the Banquet...

Hope you've had some good holidays and Happy New Year!

Zilla, 98% sure it's Rick's - runs mid sevens. He also has a 64 Fury that's high 10's. I first started helping him out of high school and put a lot of time into a hemi Arrow he ran. That was a low 9 car and my first intro to bracket racing. :D Then he purchased a factory hemi Dart. Those where the good ol' days. Hope to go racin' with him again this summer. I am going to work at his shop tomorrow. PM me an address if you want one of his latest catalogs. Lots of nice trans parts (of couse) and repo hemi and wedge crossrams. Let us know when your project is ready- I would love to see it run!

Wayne E- No, you can easily tell this is not one of Mike's wiring jobs. Some of the wires are different colors.

wvenable- No catalog necessary, my trans guy works for Griner. :D

Lou, Holidays were good, and nice and quiet.

Stopped at the race shop I used to work at yesterday and got some education in how to design and build my lower A-arms. I also got the parts ordered to build them.

My buddy is picking up the sheet metal for the firewall this week.

We won't have time to work on it this weekend, but hope to make some progress soon. :D

Hey 'Zilla,

The pics of that front end look similar to the way that blue Turismo was done. Probably a bit better engineered though,... and probably waaay better engineered than my Turismo. I'll be following along with your progress so I can learn sumthin' Nice car!

Hi Rob,

We will get the tops of the struts tied in to the cage, then start on the tube lower a-arms. We will extend the frame from the back-half all the way forward and tie it in to the stock frame horns. I also want to move the rack forward to get more oil pan clearance.

Once we get the suspension and pedals mounted where we want, then we can finish the firewall.

More pics as the project goes along.
