Its on the brake pedals push rod and holds said rod into master cylinder so catching ones foot under the brake pedal doesn't allow push rod to fall out rendering driver with no brakes as a result.
New master cylinder didn't come with one and I am currently relying on brake switch to prevent this. Anyone have a part # for "it"

Thought it was called a push rod retainer. I've heard of some guys using a piece of fuel line.....Probably not a good idea though. Or is it?

I don't have a part number, but when I get a master cylinder that's missing that part, I've made a substitute out of a short piece of vacuum hose. Not perfect, but it beats nothing, and I've not had one fail yet.

If it's the little wire clip that fits in a inside groove of the master cylinder, you can make one from a paper clip.

He is talking about the rubber piece that goes around the M/C end of the push rod.

what if you email the manufacturer Raybestos? or Bendix, they might
mail you couple retainers.

The retainer itself is nothing but a piece of rubber tube.
