I have a 1964 valiant 100 I just bought and I would like to put a floor shifter in it. the car has a slant and a three on the tree. does anyone have a suggestion on what shifter I should use?? It would be used as daily transportation.

I suspect your choices will be limited but your bigger problem will be clearance in the hump for the shifter mechanism. I attempted to do this on a '62 more years ago that I care to contemplate and gave up in frustration. If you have metal working and welding skills it's doable but it is not trivial unless the '64 has a lot more room in the hump.

Recommend the Hurst Super Shifter 3 followed by Hurst Indy Shifter. Bullet proof and choice of Hurst levers to fit your wants. There are several outfits that make floor manual transmission tunnels for the A-body. Need welding skills to install and must be a stickler for detail in making the cut in your existing floor pan. (Don't want to cut the transmission mount cross-member.)

Well I bought the hurst indy and there's no way that thing will fit. I cant believe theres not a floor shifter out there for this car  The Indy is a universal kit but it wants to occupy the same realestate as the frame and crossmember. I believe I can make it work with some fabbing but dang I was hoping for a bolt in!!!! Did they offer a floor shift for this model new in a 3 speed??? If they did maybe I can get one of those
