Gentlemen, How do I check and prove that a brake booster is inoperable, other than the obvious that the brakes "dont work"? Getting good engine vacuum, hose is in good repair, no noticable leaks. thanks for any insight. Russ |

Pump the brake pedal several times, to expell the vacumm, with the engine off. Then depress to pedal, and hold a moderate pressure on the pedal, while starting the engine. When the engine starts, the pedal should drop slightly. |

hey thanks, incidently I did a search on troubleshooting brake boosters, and im starting to believe that the booster itself may be at fault, if the check valve proves to be ok. |
