A while ago when I installed the 390 Holley on the barracuda - I accidentally bought an open instead of a closed spacer - the 4 holer that I had on was damaged after some one drove over it - idiots will not be named here - so the layout is manifold 4hole spacer 1/2inch, open phenolic resin 1/2 inch spacer, and carb....

The car pulled better through out the range it was immediately evident.... and now I came across this article read the caption regarding the carb and the one regarding th manifold spacers

Fanie,

It is interesting that they stacked them that way. It must help with the mixing????

So when you did this mod, besides increased torque did you experience any better mileage? :?:

As I said - the manifold spacers was a fluke - had to get the car ready for a rally - I am looking into the the spacer between carb throttle plate and main body.

I didn't even have a look yet at fuel consumption - it only did a bout 1000km since the "change" but I have tank to tank consumption figures with the BBD, 450, 390 and 390 stacked - will report back.
