| Post subject: | disc brake conversion questions |
I'm wanting to convert to front disc brakes on my car. I see that SSBC makes a front disc brake kit, but specify for 10" drum brakes. My car has the 9" drum brakes on the front, is there a difference in the 9" and 10" drum brake spindles? I see that a few other companies have kits out there like MP brakes, Wilwood and Scarebird, but I would like to keep the small bolt pattern. |

The scarebird conversion retains the 4" bolt pattern. In fact, it retains the original hub with the drum removed. There seems to be a difference in the knuckles, but I haven't looked at them side-by-side. From Scarebird's WEBSITE: "The 9 inch setup mounts to the front, while the 10's go to the rear. The brackets we send are different, and not interchangeble." |
