Could someone please PM , or post a photo of their "Head to Firewall Grounding Conductor". My car dose not have one at present, and I would like to see how others have run theirs.

Rear bolt hole on the top of the head next to the valve cover to the firewall. Looks like a 3/4 inch wide by about six inch long silver flat braided mesh. Eye on each end, one bolts to firewall, one bolts to hole on head.

Thanks Reed, where dose it land on the fire wall? Would it be at the silver bolt located between heater motor & heater hose in the attached photo? I gather the bolt on the head to use would be the orange one in the photo.

Sure, why not? The orange bolt is the spot to use ont he head, and I have seen them attached wherever on the firewall. If you have the length to go to that silver bolt, why not?

the stock location on the firewall is out of frame. halfway between the heater core spigots and the wiper motor is a hole at the top of the frame for the insulation retainer dome that snaps into the hole from behind. above that and just to the side, near the cowl pinchweld flange, should be a bolthole. use a self-threading bolt with integral washer head.

reed is correct though, any conductor bridging the gap caused by the rubber mounts will work and the location is not very important.

I put mine from one of the voltage regulator bolts to the engine. Actually, under the same orange bolt you pointed out, which is also where the choke temperature sensor is mounted (on my engine anyway).

I found the plastic insulation fastener protruding from the fire wall, which is just on the edge of the frame in my photo, but no additional hole near that location.

Having read a few days ago, a post reguarding a cylinder head to fire wall grounding conductor, made me remember that my car had one before rewireing last spring.

The silver bolt was once a ground point for a real crappy mess of a connection stright from Budwisser Enginering when I first got the car. Unfortunately that bolt is a coarse threaded lag bolt with not much bite to securely affix a grounding conductor.

I'll perhaps drill a second hole, so it will be electricly compentent, and a bit more aesthetically appealing

i described the stock location for '69, if the location is different for '67 i would keep looking for it or use another pre-existing bolt hole rather than make a new one. placement is not as important as connectivity.
