The front clips on all Dart Sports/Dusters/Demons are interchangeable so long as you swap the hood, fenders, bumper, valence, and grill as a matched set, correct? In other words, you can put a Dart Sport front clip on a Duster (also assuming both cars are post-5 m.p.h. bumper), right? :?:

You can put the older clip on the newer cars too, you just have to do some fab work on the bumper mounting brackets.

Really? So any 67-up A-body front clip can be mounted on any 67-up A body-shell with minor fabrication? :D So, for instance, I could put a 68 Dart clip on a 76 Duster with bumper bracket fabrication?

Yes, it will bolt on with a little fab work. :D

That is tentatively the plan, although I am leaning towards a 69 clip for the sake of legality/visibility and the side markers. I will post pictures as we progress.

Swapping is pretty easy as big D says, just some brackets to make up and weld to keep it all inline...the only drawback I can see is the price of 'pre-72' parts is going up...and modifying the car like this, your insurance may get messy if you get into an accident... ("Sorry we insured that 1976 for collision...the right front fender will only be replaced with a 1976 fender...who put the 1969 hardware on your vehicle?")

Good luck on your adventure!

Nah, we have always only carried liability insurance. All the repairs are up to me. That's the only way we can afford to insure five cars.

It will be fun though. Black with a red interior, a 69 Dart front clip, fat slotted mags, true dual exhaust dumping into zoomies, possibly a stroked 260 hydraulic cam fuel-injected slant...

Hmm... For some reason, "The Road Warrior" comes to mind... 8)

 I won't deny I'm a big fan, and am drawing some inspiration from that vehicle.

I thought 69's had reflectors not marker lights. Are Dodges different then Plymouths? 68 Valiants and Barracudas have round marker lights and 69's have rectangular reflectors, 70 and up have lights.

My understanding is that in 67 US Federal safety standards were adopted mandating that all US built vehicles have running lights in the 68 model years. The small round lights on 68 Mopars were Chrysler's way of thumbing their nose (or biting their thumb) at the Feds, but in 69 Chrysler had to behave and use the larger full size running lights.

However, after reading this article on Allpar.com, I see I am mistaken. Apparently you are right- 68s got lights, 69s got reflectors, 70-up got lights and reflectors. Hmmm. Back to the drawing board.
