After reading about clutch explosions in slower cars I am concerned. I think slant to SB adapter and SB blast shield are a good idea. |

Though balancing capabilities have gained leaps and bounds in the past 25 years its better to be safe, than sorry. ![]() ![]() The kit/adapter from the (64 to 67) A-100 and A-108 Dodge Vans and many pre-68 production vehicles (light duty pick-ups and Taxi-Cabs) where the Slant/6 required a 727 behind it, will facilitate the install of the SBM blow up shield. This steel adapter also adds strength to the rear of the block. This allows upgrading to an easier to find 833 - 4spd bell from the SBM, instead of trying to find the elusive original 4spd cast iron bell for the Slant. ![]() Terry |

Another option is to get the steel blast plate that comes with a Lakewood scattershield drilled for a Slant bellhousing pattern. I have a shield I got from Team Green that has an aluminum plate drilled to Slant that replaces the steel plate, but the steel plate could be drilled just as well I believe. I also stumbled on to one of the aluminum copies of the stock adapter plate that ARE made. Got it from rock on this board. |
