The top shot can do funny things with carburetor function. If the nitrous flow hits a booster it can pull in a lot of fuel and make it go very rich. You're better off with a plate under the carb. I have a Super Powershot plate already drilled to fit a Clifford manifold if you'd like to try it.

Mark, I took the advice of Slantzilla, charlie, josh and a host of others on this site and bought a simple plate system. Currently i'm using a 50 shot on my plate system (compu car brand) knocked nearly a full second off. It ran 14.99 no nitrous and 14.06 with only a 50 shot. I made no changes to anything other than cutting out 4 degrees of timing, and it was running a little lean because I still have a stock fuel pump. With more fuel I think it would go a little faster on the 50 shot. My car weighs 3330, so you could gain even more. 10's should be no problem, and reliable at 50hp shot. Congratulations on your record setting!

Mark, do yourself a favor and give Mike a call when he gets back from Earlville. With the compression you're running spraying is nothing but playing with fire, especially when you are asking about something like a Top Shot.

One other thing you need to know about nitrous. The faster you are to start with, the less gain you will see. While a 50 shot will gain almost a full second on a 14 second car, you may only see a couple tenths, because your engine/drivetrain is more efficient to start with. If you're running a loose converter and a lot of gear, you'll run out of RPM way before the trap too.

I have a nice "clover-leaf" pattern plate if needed...

The rear gearing is a good point... I had to change to a 4.30 ratio to support running the N2O like I do.
When I go to more motor, I will likely end-up with 4.10s or a taller tire.

How much compression does mark's car have now? I didn't realize there would be such little gain on a faster car. Good to know ahead of time.

I think he's around 12:1. Mike J is the man to tap, or maybe give Jimmy Cox a call.

We spent the weekend with Mike at Earlville. I told him Mark was going to call. He just shook his head.

We raced with Guzzi Mark at Sacramento this weekend... his "MadMax" Valiant had the hood fixed and no N2O on it... and the car was running mid 11 like "clock-work".
That car is "working good" for the combo of parts he has... But Mark is "hell-bent" to get the car into the 10's
I need to finish the K1 Wisco engine build I have started... so I can give him a good run for his money (read: "beat his a$$) with my toadcar.

Change of plan,,,car is way better than I have ever hoped.I am not going to change or try anything different on the car,it performs brilliant,I don't.
Plan is for me to work on me getting to know the car as is, without changing a thing.
I am the weak link.Car is consistant and fast,I am the opposite, inconsistant and a slow learner.Guzzi Mark

I had my first real experience off waiting...Against Dave Rudd in round 2...Had a horrible reaction time...but the roughly 3 sec time lapse felt like I could have made pancakes before launching... Good experince to have had...I was able to get Rhondas car to go 16.999. Pretty good for a stocker and me in it...AND... I weigh about 290lbs.... so imagine if Rhonda was driving it...

Had a great time....
