I just installed a marine 2300 in my Val and am really pleased with the initial results. This is the 300 cfm unit and everything hooked up easily except that the is no fitting for my vac advance! I believe that it should connect to the metering block just above the passenger side mixture needle. There is a blank hole in that spot; can this be drilled out and fitted with the appropriate tube? Or . . . . ? Thanks!

Many marine applications don't use vacuum advance. You can't just drill and tap the metering block, but you can replace it with one mean for a highway application.

If the carb is not a reverse idle screw model, you can swap the metering block out with one from most model holley 2 or 4 barrels (Holley used to sell new replacement blocks for a few $$, but cheaper than buying a junkyard carb and taking a chance...).

Good Luck,

Thanks to both of you! I'll look to scare one up soon.
