For SSDan and others with an opinion - What is a decent 4 or possibly 5 inch in diameter long range driving light? Six inch sty;e would be too large due to lack of space.. |

Good 4" round "driving" (auxiliary high beam) lamp: Bosch Compact 100. Good 5" round "driving" lamp: Cibie series 40. Passably decent 5" round "driving" lamp: Hella 500. Make your headlamps work as well as possible before considering auxiliary lamps, though. |

Hey Dan, what do you recommend as a good replacement for the headlamps on a Duster that does mostly backroad and open highway driving at night? I'll be doing up a harness that has pigtails for both driving lights and fog lights (Spokane gets some nasty fog in the fall), and once the harness is done I'd like to go ahead with higher quality headlamps (like you say, before installing any auxilliary lamps). IIRC you recommended something from Bosch last year but I lost all the emails I saved when my laptop crashed.

I don't like to get commercial on the board here — please send me an e-mail if you want to buy lights from me. Get Cibie headlamps; enter Cibie in the board's search field to see others' experiences with them. |
