What kind of black paint did Chrysler use for its engines? Is it a gloss or semi-gloss? Its hard to tell on my '83 slant. |

Glossier than what's sold as semi-gloss, flatter than what's sold as gloss.  Seriously, black engine paint is pretty universal. Whatever you find from a reputable maker at the parts store will suit fine. But why buying black engine paint rather than blue?

Well, the oil pan I am using is Midi's old pan that he painted orange (Hemi Orange I assume). So I thought I would paint the block black, and paint the intake, the transmission brace, and valve cover orange. Just to mix things up some. And being to lazy to change the oil pan color.
