Post subject:  Front Suspension Parts
I'm looking for a source the has Alunimum isolators for the front K-member to fit a 1978 Plymouth Volare.Theres a F-Body site that list them but I have emailed them and they don't reply.Also where I can get a complete front end bushing kit that includes the ones for the torsion bars.I contacted PST and the kit isn't very complete and is pricey even by my standards.I have it all disassembled and sand blasted so I could check it out closely for any cracks or worn items.I need to get it reassembled in the next couple of weeks so I can reinstall the engine.

I'm guessing you have an "A" body. All front end bushings & bump stops can be had at NAPA including eccentric upper control arm bushings for correcting castor problems, and original one piece as well as upgrade two piece strut rod bushings.

Firm Feel has the aluminum subframe isolator replacements. They also show suspension rebuild kits.

Nope, wjajr; that Volare is an F body.

look up user "CudaZappa" on either Moparts (he lists them in the classifieds over there) or MoparStyle. He makes them. I believe that they are the same as the "late B body" cars take as well.

I bought the urethane ones; I don't remember where, whether I got em from ESPO with the urethane motor mounts and leaf spring bushings/iso mounts, or whether I got em elsewhere; not yet installed but they GOTTA be an improvement over stock; i bought these before I knew anything about the aluminum ones being available. I guess MP used to sell steel ones for that at one time from what I've read.

BUT I bought all MOOG for the rest of the front suspension, their "problem solver" "improved design, provides additional ride and handling benefits" options they showed. IDK exactly what they are, don't look like urethane but are definitely firmer than stock ones. They showed std rubber stuff as well, in their catalog.

OOPS! Missed that small aspect of emptypockett's first sentence. The second clue should have been K frame isolators... I guess it is time to lose the Maxwell House Lite for something with a little more kick. I suspect NAPA has all the bushings for an "F" body also. Didn't think of FirmFeel also a good source.

Well as always all you have to do is ask.I went to Moparts and also to Firm Feel.I'll be calling Firm Feel tomorow and ordering their aluninum isolators Package.Just what I wanted.I finished up the sub-frame yesterday and got to painted last night so I'm ready to put that back in once I get the isolators.I looked all over and at the diffrent suspension parts avalible and I'm going to use the Moog bushing.No one makes a complete unit in urethane for the upper or lowers ,you end up reusing your outer sleeves.Seems like everytime I get into something like that things seem to go wrong and you end up modifing things.When you call for tech service the put on the stupid face and say "your the first one that had a problem" and we all know thats crap.Anyway Moog has built suspension parts for a long time and I'm not road racing this car.The problem solver are a better quailty.Thanks for the replys :D

I gotta learn to type faster!I posed my reply and Slant Zilla already had another answer.I tried looking for CudaZapper at Moparts and had to get a log name before the would let me search and was unable to find him (not to good with this computor searching thing).I'll be checking this post today and see if there is a link or .com for the k-member isolators. :oops:

C-Z and me, are in a discussion about late B body tire sizes (Cordoba Magnum, 75+ Coronet Fury, Charger, etc) on Moparstyle and I told him to expect you to contact him; and referred him to this thread here too.
Look back on Moparts in the Classifieds in the "all other Mopar" then Parts for Sale; C-Z shows pix of his aluminul spacers and specs out what grade of aluminum he uses, etc.

Didn't the 78' and up LeBaron, Diplomat, and 5th Ave's come with 15 inch wheels?

A few minutes later after checking brochures: Yup; 15"x 5.5".

yeah but we are talking non stock sizes such as 295-50-15s on aftermarket Cragars out back and something like 215-65-15 on the front of a 78 Fury 2 door; back space. rub/no rub, enough/"too much" rake, etc.

Well I spoke with Gary and he is shipping out the aluninmum front K-frame isolators.He was $60.00 cheaper the the other company.Thanks for the infor and helping me find the correct parts at a fair price.

Yeah Gary was a huge help to me, in helping mediate a parts deal gone bad. between me and one of his friends that used to post on the boards.
With his help I finally got my parts after like 8 months.
