IIRC, the one in my Duster was attached to something under the dash on those hooks so it faced straight down. It was in just the right place that the windshield leaked on it and corroded all the terminals.

My fuse block is hanging down from under the dash on it's bundle of wires. Finally am tired of seeing it hanging down there, went and took a look under the dash to see what the story is, but can't seem to figure out how it mounts. Looking at the block straight on, it's got two finger-like j-hook tabs on the left that look like they're supposed to hang onto something. On the top side and bottom side, there are two tabs with holes that one could put screws through and mount them someplace. But, I cant seem to see under the dash or on the side wall, exactly how it's supposed to mount. Can someone help with an explanation or post a diagram? many thanks! |

I had the same problem on my '74. We were informed (can't remember who) that there was a bolt hole in the fuse panel body from how it was mounted on earlier cars, and that if you were to put an isolator on the back of the panel, you could mount it using that hole pretty much anywhere you wanted. With that, my plan was to build a 90 degree angle bracket off the rear lip of the dash, bolt it to the dash, and then bolt the fuse panel to that. Of course, I never actually got around to it, so I don't have pictures. The fuse panel "should" be the same, but you never know... ~THOR~ |

There should be a flat metal bracket mounted under the dash. The plastic fuse panel has a thin slot in one edge that slips over the metal bracket. I'll get a pic for you if you need it. Jerry |

That thing drives me nuts. It's just hanging loose in my '74 Duster as well. I really should just replace it with a newer style fuse block that's got a couple relays in there and can be hard mounted underneath the dash, but I still haven't gotten around to it
