I just obtained a set of SBP disc brakes, labeled only "383 A-body". They look like the 4-piston K-H BBP ones on my other car. Question: can I get a rebuild kit and pads for these calipers? Is a Raybestos MC 36388 master cylinder the best choice for a non-power brake, 67 A body? Going SBP to save $ and maybe #'s.

I looked at Rock Auto, and found rebuilt calipers, Raybestos or Cardone. All were reman's. Anyone tried these?

If all you can get is remanufactured, I'd go with ones that have a life-time warranty.......................

The rebuild kit is less than $20.00. The rotors look barely used, but they look like they've been sitting in the yard for a while. Going by the pictures of the calipers, the Cardone 184406-7 @ $132.79 looks less chineesy than the Raybestos RC4176 @ $93.79 (both including core return), but the less than $20.00 self-rebuild is tempting.

Careful of the Cardone stuff.... I've gotten MC and various other brake parts from them that were junk right out of the box...

Cardone rebuild stuff, leaves much to be desired, and their customer service sucks. Four different computers, in two weeks on the same car. All with different problems. When I called Cardone to see if they would repair one (of theirs) that I send them, telling them exactly what was wrong. They said they could but it would take about 4-5 weeks to get it back to me. When I asked why so long, I was told they had other things to do, and after all, "THEY WERE DOING ME A FAVOR". HUH. Don't use them unless, I have no choice.

Well, they sound busy, I wouldn't want to take up their valuable time trying to buy stuff. In the spirit of the DIY patchwork that is my Cuda, I think I'll get the Raybestos rebuild kit WK 518, and DPS 85002 pistons, and rebuild them at home.
