Post subject:  Body Code Plate Interpretation

Recently I received a Chassis-Body Service Manual for my 1976 Volare (wagon). It only mentions i passing, the Body Code Plate. Where can I turn to in order to interpret the various codes on this plate? I'm not a "restoration-type" guy, but am more curious than anything else as to what each code on the plate means. Thank you

For the plate codes, you'll be going in one of many places, here are a few ideas:

1) Mopar Decoding Websites (several to chose from...most cater to pre-1973 mopars)
2) Pay $10 to Galen for one of his books (still missing a few codes as he has no records of what they mean)
3) A few 'basic' trim/paint codes can be found in the books Titled "Catalog of American Car ID Numbers", but is still lacking most of the other codes (like A01-light package, A31-Feather Duster/Dart Lite...etc...)

Can you show us a good, clear, sharp, full-frame photo of the fender tag(s), or an accurate transcription?

Post subject:  Body Code Plate Continued

Thanks for comments to date. Either through my own inabilities or the quality of my digital camera, I was unable to get a clear, glare-free picture of the Body Code Plate. Below, however, is a line-by-line transcription:

N37 R11 L2 03 437

J25 K5L L31 M15 M21 M91

HL4 U 1 B41 G11 G52 H51

HL4 B2L3 000 604 S01004

E24 D31 HL45 C6B 373470

From the explanation in the Electrical Service Manual I learned the following about the last row of letters/numbers:

E24 = Engine Code (In my case 225 cu in)
D31 = Transmission Code (In my case 904)
The remaining 13 letters and numbers on the last line are the VIN number for my vehicle and I know what they mean.

Thank you for your anticipated help.
