Hello All,
I have just joined the forum and thought I should put some photos up.
The Valiant always stirs up interest where ever she goes and is my daily drive.
My children love the Val and whistle the theme tune to The Addams family on account of the cars looks and my apparent similar appearance to Lurch :)

Thanks...
She came over in 2003. Structurally she is very good, no welding, filler or bent panels.
Interior needs a complete rework, also took your advice and I am in the stages of upgrading to a HEI. I was working in Bellingham WA last week and stopped of at Old Car Parts Northwest and picked up a distributor. Really enjoying the site too. It appears to be a never ending pit of information.

Moosa, Its a 1960. First year Valiant.

A while back, working on my car, some fellow came up to me and told me about when he was in Europe in the sixties.
At the time he was a police/ security officer and said he had the same car but it was done up as a police car.

I thought of that when I saw your location, ever see anything resembling a cop car Valiant over there?

Not here in the UK... I have heard that they were used in Scandinavia as Police vehicles.
These are very rare sight in the UK

Yep, there were police Valiants in Sweden and in Australia, and there might've been some in continental Europe (possibly Switzerland) but as far as I know, not in the U.K.

Moosa: there are lots of good sources for replacement parts for the '60-'62 Valiants. See this post. I have a U.K. M.I.R.A. analysis of the 1961 RHD U.K.-market Valiant available. This is (by many, many, many miles) the most mind-bogglingly detailed car test I have ever seen. It's about an inch thick and not only did they test drive it, but they test-drove it in a rain chamber...and in a dust chamber...and on a dynamometer. They dissected the engine and all its subcomponents. Same with the brakes, and other parts of the running gear. They subjected various parts to corrosion testing. They analysed the headlight beam performance. They stopped just short of measuring the ashtray capacity! Send me a PM if you're interested. Oh, and decals are here.

There is a beach pass in the window for warringah...
So she was built in Oz...
Finding parts is no problem, its the postage costs!
Lucky for me I will be working in Anacortes WA next week and will pack the bag full of parts :)
I like your S Series, it looks stunning.

Since it's an Aussie Valiant you might want to put it on the Australian R & S Series register.
