Dan,

I removed my parking light housings to freshen up their exterior with a bit of paint, and re installed with 1157 GE bulbs. I did not index right & left at the time. FM calls for a 1034 bulb which is not available locally.

I tested them yesterday, blink is low lumens, and park is high lumens. Are these housings handed, so if I swap right for left they will be correct, or do I have a miss matched bulb problem?

The index pins on the bulb base, and the matching J-slots in the sockets, are at different heights relative to the end of the bulb. That is so the bulb can only be installed right way round. If the sockets are worn/sloppy, it's possible to install the bulbs the wrong way round and they'll work backward like this. If the socket contact plate was removed from the socket, it's possible that's installed wrong way round, which will likewise cause backward operation.

Aren't the '67 Dart park/turn lenses colourless? If so, you need an amber bulb. #2357NA (#2357A) is the best/brightest pick, followed by #1157NA (#1157A). Don't use a #2057, which has a dimmer "dim" mode.

If I'm remembering wrong and the lenses are actually amber, use a #3496 bulb (also in the brake/tail lamps) for max safe intensity.

Thanks Dan,

I did not disturb the sockets which have the off-set pin channels. You are correct, the lens is clear, narrow, and hard to get fingers & bulb in place to turn them to lock. I'll get some 2357A bulbs.
