Post subject: | Spring on Fuel Pump? |
I just got a fuel pump from Napa (part no. M60576) The fuel pump that I removed has a spring on the arm. The new pump has no spring, nor does it have nipples to hold a spring in place, so I can't just put the old spring on the new pump. Did I get the wrong part? |

No, you've found yet another example of "decontenting" (cheapening/crappification) by the MBA knownothings who now run most auto parts companies. It'll work, it just may be slightly noisier. |

Dan is correct. I just replaced my fuel pump with the exact one you mentioned, and its actually quite a bit noisier.I can here it at idle sometimes, and sometimes not. |

63 miles later I had to put the old one back on to get me to a NAPA. Of course then I had to change the oil again, twice. (gas in oil) I now carry a spare. Frank |
