Well guys and gals, since I committed to attend (although it was the one weekend I said I was busy... $200 dollars to the longest DRIVEN slant race car to attend. A couple rules though. YOU MUST drive the car. No "support" vehicles/trailers following because how do I know you didn't drop the car off 10 miles out Need ideas on how to police this You must make X amount of passes again need ideas Must enter eliminations. And I am thinking you need to buy me and my wife a cold one. Ya sure, it's not conventional but I feel it's fair . So to make it official: Chris' Autobody Restoration Service $200.00 Long Haul award (pending rule changes within the next couple months) |

That is generous, Chris. Thanks! If Seymour lived in FL or AK or San Diego, he would win. As it is, you might get me to drive my '64 Dart from VA. My '68 Dart is already living in MN for a year, and it'll be there regardless. I will kick some into the general purse fund. I haven't talked to Mike about purse at all... Lou |

Great offer, but the whole reason I'm able to make it in the first place is because the Swinger "only" has to make it 600 miles or so... Oh, and back home again... Well at least if something breaks in Kearney, there might be a couple of people around who know a thing or two about slants. For my part, I want to thank all the long-haulers in advance for making this trek. It'll be a great opportunity to meet you guys (and gals)! |

The reasoning behind this is to give some incentive to people on a budget to drive to NE and enter the car for a few laps. A road trip for those goof-balls in Oregon $200 bucks isn't alot but should help with the gas money for someone! |

That's really generous!! I'm crazy enough to make that trip, and I have total confidence that the Dart can make it too. Oregon goof-ball? Yeah, I think that's me. I'll have to see how the finances work out.. but you've got one potential contender here - I really wanted to go to NE, but the cost was making me think I couldn't. |

Yahoo maps says otherwise, boys. Actually, Doug, you and Allan and I are pretty close, since all I could type in for you is "Sunnyvale CA" - but doing that, we're only a few miles difference. However, according to the directions, we're about 1520-1530 miles. Ron, I always feel lucky, whether I am or not is a different story, but I'll still take you on any day! |

Does it count if I drive to Wilmington, NC and turn around and go back?? I'll throw in another $100 to be divided up between the 2nd and 3rd furthest drivers. Lou |

That's the spirit!!! That is why I posted this idea so early, a little incentive to get everyone motivated to make the trip. For me this trip may be cheaper than going to the BIR National Event. Tickets for the week long package are a couple hundred bucks each, a dozen cases of beer, food, more food, bail money... As long as one of us who are brave enough to drive doesn't have any misfortune I think this is going to be a blast! I need to look at the map again but I am thinking that those in MN could meet here at my shop before we drive down. |

To encourage racers from the East and Far West to make the trip, I will pay an additional $500 to the points race winner if they live more than 900 miles from Kearney and race their own car. If we have two points races, I could split it into $250 for each race. Regardless of the actual milage, racers from Columbus, OH, Memphis, TN, or the Knoxville, TN area including Maynardville and Wartburg would be eligible this money. Seymour |
