How does the HyperPak intake compare with the Aussie intake?

If you have been following the aussie intake thread (or read it now), Doc hasn't been able to perform any head to head tests yet because he changed his engine combo after last season. (I think I have that right)

Once the '09 season gets going he was going to get a baseline on what he has on the engine and swap a couple different intakes on to see how they compare. (I think I have that right too)

The aussie intake has tuned, equal length runners, flowed on a flow bench. The Hyper pak intake has real long straight runners. Alot of assumptions can be made on the comparison... one is for street performance, one is for retro, high RPM racing. (I think I am right to make that assumption   )

I was following that thread for a while, but I have been working on other projects lately which has been keeping me on other forums. I guess we'll have to wait and see how they each compare to one another. We're all looking forward to your results of the new Aussie manifold. Looks like a nice piece.

Yes... I need to do the testing but we need to get a new baseline on the car before doing the swap... and then just do the manifold change alone.
My gut tells me that I will see little change between the Hurracane and the repop H-pak manifold I am currently running.

A back to back comparison sure would make a good article ...

Hi Guys AussieSpeed SL6 intake manifold is under going a few changes that Doctor Dodge requested. It is only external changes .. I would like to get my hands on a hyper pack to do some testing for our selves. Doug should have an intake soon ..

Perhaps they'd rather just borrow one for the testing and return it to Doc (or anyone else who has one and would be willing).

It would provide two sets of data for reference.

Mark, good to hear from ya! Whenever you get a chance I would love to hear about the modifications since it looks like a second generation hurricane is about to be born. Have you given any thought about making the water heat more like a Clifford intake? I think SlantSixDan brought this up in an earlier post. Hope things are starting to cool off down there. Thanks, Wayne.

I sent Mark info on where to add some additional material for linkage bolt bosses and how to "clean-up" the mounting tab / NOS- EFI boss areas at the ends of each runner. Basically, we passed along all the stuff learned when we machined Stone's manifold.

I suspect we will have some fuel distrubution suggestions once we run the unit but that will be open to debate, WOT racing and "street" use are two different situations and a good "tune" for one is not always the best for the other.
