How do i identify which color my dart originally was. I've searched the interenet and all i get is junk. Im thinking b5? blue but i have no idea. It's a sparkely blue, more so than shown in the picture:

Looks like PPG #2627, but let's be sure: open the hood and find the 2" by 3" metal plate affixed to the driver's side inner fender, stamped with letters and numbers. Either post a clear, sharp, close-up photo of the plate, or carefully copy down the stampings and post them here exactly as they appear on the plate, and we can tell you the original paint code(s) and a great deal more about how the car was originally equipped and when/where it was built.

("B5" was the short code for PPG #2627 in '74; this is not the same as at least one other blue with short code "B5" in other years.)

I've identified the basics by the smaller vin plate on the dash, such as trim options, engine size, plant manfuctered at, etc.. It's the details i want.. heres a pic but it might be hard to see

Details we can give, but you're going to have to do better than that blurry pic of the crusty plate. Clean it up and shoot a clear, sharp, close-up photo, or transcribe it and post the contents here.

Okay...any chance you can clean up the tag (maybe with a stiff bristle brush and some Simple Green, brake cleaner, or general solvent) and fill in the question marks? The question marks on the bottom line can be filled in by looking at the car's VIN plate on the dashboard near the windshield, but the others (higher up on the plate) will help out. At minimum, this what you're showing us so far indicates that your car is indeed painted with PPG #2627 blue.
