I am pulling my slant 6 out to rebuild. While I have it out I am going to redo the front suspension and was thinking I ought to just replace it all. What kits are available and which ones should i stay away from. Second part of the question is that I would like to upgrade my drum brakes to disc on the front. Would this be the time to do it or does it matter much. Like a lot of people I will have to do this as I can afford to so I dont want to bite off more than I can chew. I will also need rear leaf springs, and shocks..any and all advice appreciated..thanks..Mark |

I mostly used parts store stuff on my Dart, but I'm not sure I would do that anymore with some of the newer aftermarket ball joints and the way parts store parts have been cutting corners. There were a couple really nice looking ball joint kits out there now - I think it was Just Suspension, but I'm not sure. Rebuilding the front suspension would be a great time for a disk brake conversion, as you'll need to do much of the work you'd need for a suspension rebuild anyway. |
