Will a thermal or non thermal fan clutch fit on a /6? Anybody fit one of these to their car?

I'm using a small metal flex fan that couldn't keep my big-block Ford cool but has been working fine for 2 years on the stock 225 engine in my Valiant.

Theory vs. practice: your stock fan isn't robbing significant power, unless you're making regular runs past 4,000 rpm. You stand a chance of fitting a clutch fan in your '67 with careful work; it's much harder in the earlier cars. See here for discussion of clutch fans, here for info on a clutch fan that fits rather easily, here for a discussion of flex fans, and here for a long discussion of faith vs. science in determining the effects of a fan swap.

How 'bout an electric fan with an upgraded alternator…?

I tried a clutch fan from a slant six Mirada on my 73 Dart several years ago. IIRC, I found that this fan interfered with the rad and power steering pump. I also looked at a Mercedes clutch fan too but couldn't tell if the fan bolt circle matched up with the water pump bolt circle. It looked too rough to take a chance on buying for evaluation.

I had an electric fan on the Valaint for a couple of years.....I never turned it on. It finally freewheeled itself to death and I never repaced it.
As long as the car never sees a stoplight(closest one to here is 2.5 hours) you dont need a fan.....nor in the winter....or rain....

My son keeps putting the stock fan back on....

I had a 5 blade clutch fan on my '74 Swinger and it didn't interfere with anything, I would imagine mostly because there was a properly sized spacer between the mounting flange for the fan, and the water pump pulley.

I can say that the 6 blade solid fans are a bit of overkill, I had one on my '71 Dart, and above 4k RPM, that was all I could hear. When I swapped to a regular 4 blade fan, I picked up 2 mph in the 1/4 mile.

No joke!
