My 74 Dart has no spark from the coil. I own two coils and both don't work. But I have had problems with "what ever it is" in this image below. It jumps off the + side of the coil...and I did a continuity test on this part in question to find it grounding. Only thing I could think of is it's a type of diode that is now bad???
Can someone please tell me what this is? Or if it's even the problem to begin with. I outlined the part in a white box below. Thanks!

Your pic link doesn't work and cannot be fixed; please see these instructions for how to include photos in a post. If what you're talking about is a small metal can affixed to the coil bracket and connected to the + side of the coil with a single wire, it's a radio noise suppression condenser (capacitor). Probably not your problem. "No spark from the coil" means there's a fault somewhere in the ignition system. Faulty electronic control unit, faulty distributor, faulty wiring, faulty ignition switch…grab your service manual (get one right away if you don't already have one) and start diagnosing. What tools do you have available? Do you have a test light?

Sorry, I figured out the image thing  What you descibed sounds alot like what it is, but why would that go to ground? Wouldn't that mess things up? Once before, the wire coming out of it broke, and my car died. I re-soldered the wire and everything worked again so I don't know... I have a manual, volt meter, most tools I would need...Could you please check out my image now that I got it up? :)

That is indeed a radio noise suppression capacitor. If it is shorted to ground, the car won't run (and you'll burn up your ignition wire). If it is missing or its wire is cut, there will be more static on the radio but your car will run fine. Remove its wire from the coil + terminal if you think it's faulty, but I think your trouble is probably elsewhere.
