Post subject: | Hydraulic Lifter Question |
Hello, I'd like to know if anyone here has converted a solid lifter block to hydraulic lifters with the '81 or later head, cam, and valvetrain. I'm working on a '65 A-100 van with a 225 for someone who knows nothing about cars, and there's no way they'll ever learn to adjust the valves, so I'm looking into converting it to hydraulic lifters. I'm like to know if the cam and pushrod height will end up exactly where they should since valvetrain of the hydraulic setup is non-adjustable. I'd like to keep the original '65 block in the van if possible, or would it be better just to find a complete '81 or later engine with hydraulic lifters and swap that in? Thanks, Jeff Chong bc157@lafn.org |
