Yes, buy it. Some rust? My '64 has "some" rust. I got a '71 Valiant with no gas tank and no front bumper or grill, for $200, but it's clean and rust free, a good looking car. I'll go to the 'yards tomorrow to see if the new parts have come it ![]() I paid $1,000 for my '71 Swinger, it's also clean and rust free, new paint and it will look like a new car. I'm cutting the unibody from a junked '71 Swinger to use the floor pans in my '67 convertible. I think I can salvage a good part of the frame rails of the car, maybe someone could use them. I also have good frame rails from a right quarter panel that someone might use. Quote:

(real cheap for the condition or free) - Do I have a place to keep the car? (a "hassel free" parking spot) - What are my plans for this car, resell, part-out, driver, etc. - Do I have time in my schedule to support the use it plan above? (cars that "sit around" go to crap fast, unless properly stored) Therefore, best to use the car or move it along quickly. (part-out or re-sell) If the answer is "Yes" to all of the above, go for it! As they say, "they are not making these anymore!" Back when I had more time, it was great fun to pick-up a free or cheap car, get it running, "tinker" with it while you drove it for a while, then sell it for some extra "mad money". DD |
