So, there's a guy over on FABO claiming there was a 251 c.i. slant six as an option in Dodge trucks in the early 60's. Any truth to that?

According to This site, the 251 was a flat head engine.. not a slant. So, to answer your question, no there is no such thing as a factory 251 slant.

Seems he is a bit off on a few other things as well...

Yep, the 251 is a flathead. There is no 251 slant-6. There is also no 240 slant-6, despite mention of a "special 240CID truck slant-6" in amongst other errors of fact in literature published over the years, some of it from sources who should've been reliably authoritative. And there's also no "special 252 truck slant-6" (that one comes from transposing the 2nd and 3rd digit in "225").

But you know how it goes…repeat something often enough and it becomes "common knowledge", true or not.
