I am in the middle of swapping the ignition on my 5th Ave to HEI. Everything is wired up, but I still get no start. The distributor I am using was purchsed used off of eBay and is an old Mopar distributor. How do I check if the pickup in the distributor is still functioning? I have a multimeter that can test ohms, but how do I do it? Thanks. |

Neither pickup lead should have continuity to the case. Should be in the mega-ohm range or OL (out of limits of the meter). If memory serves the pickup coil should be 600-900 ohms. Also, if you put the meter on AC volts and give the distributor a good spin you'll see voltage. It's easier to see on an analog meter with a needle. |
