To address possible porosity issues on my aluminum intake what would seal it?

What's the best way to remove the existing black paint?

Anyone know if they make white engine paint? I want to see leaks EZ, and have great reflective light.

You can use paint stripper on the intake.

I don't know that I've seen white engine paint, but I have seen silver which will show most anything and everything. Chrysler painted a lot of L6s silver. There is also Cat yellow and Cummins beige. Now that I think about it there was white engine paint used on some Cummins engines. Yes! Cummins Marine White! Looks like you want o buy this locally as shipping is awful.

Dupli-Color makes a white engine enamel good to 500 degrees in a 12 oz spray can, as well as a 500 degree primer.

Fanie,

I picked up the completed head Wednesday morning from the machine shop. Jason (machinist) blended the bowls after installing new hardened exhaust seats, and over sized valves for me with out being asked. He liked the porting job I had done. Later on Wednesday I installed the valves, and painted the head. Today Mother Nature cooperated with mild temperatures, and I was able to paint the block using good old Dupli-Color engine enamel. See photos on Social Corner under "So what did you get done on your slant today? page 4. Well I see you all ready made it over there.

Tonight I have been installing a few bits, tomorrow perhaps the head will go on if I can find an extra pair of hands, and she will be running again...
