I am looking for another original valve cover that I could have chromed for some additional "bling" on my engine. Will any valve cover fit my "72 225 slant or should I be looking for a certain year? I want to stay with original to keep the baffles and holes needed. Thanks for any info!

I have a beauty you can have free for shipping. I just gave away a bunch pf parts to various forum members and I think I saved one more cover after replacing with a Offy one from the group buy. Bead blasted, painted with PlastiKote, and has two chimneys, one for PCV, one for oil breather.
PM if you want it or a pic, from 27608

For your 1972 engine, the correct valve cover is a 1970-1980 unit with three flat holes and no chimneys. Pre-1970 units such as the one Rock offers will fit, but they have a different appearance and hookup configuration (two chimneys, no flat holes).

Yep,

If what you are after is not so much original (Mopar) rather than aftermaket, AND that original shouldbe the three hole type, Dan is right. By the way, Porter at Tri Cities Plating in Johnson City, TN gave me a great price on show level chroming one of my two chimney valve covers. (And oil pan, timing chain cover, bumpers and some small parts). M bumper is the best I ever saw in a show. Tri Cities goes to Mopar Nationals if you want to drop off rather than ship.
