I've got a Thermoquad here I've been eyeballing. It's missing the Accelerator pump shooter. Does the AFB or Edelbrock shooter fit this carb? CJ |

Can't really answer that but if the shooter is missing the needle that goes under it probably is too; Go to Moparts (sorry) and look up DemonSizzler; He's the TQ GURU; he can probably send you that part for ~ a couple bux, with the retainer screw. Check the very 1st subject, Members Buisnesses; (or something to that effect) he's active in that forum; otherwise among our members Rug Trucker would be a good bet; hopefully he chimes in. I gotta get ahold of Demonsizzler myself regarding rebushing the shafts on 2 TQs that I have currently in pieces. |

After looking the thing over a bit more seriously, it needs a lot. I think it's going to be relegated to the "Shop Art" category. Thanks for the leads! CJ |

Now DusterIdiot, he's got a nice collection started! If he does his glass coffee table full of odd carburetors, I'll donate it to the cause! CJ |

When set up right the TQ is hard to beat; that leaky float bowl is a simple fix; I'd run a TQ ANY DAY over a QJ (yeah I know they are similar) or about any Holley! what's so wrong with it other than a missing squirter? |

Ceej, do you need one? I have a box of "odds and sods" carbs in the shed, and I know I have 2 TQ's from a couple of 400 big blocks I had ransacked in the day...they aren't slant material (big block version flows what 750-800 cfm right?), but might replace the items you need....let me know, maybe I can have THOR deliver one down if he's heading your way... -D.Idiot |

I have run about all the major makes of carbs and a Q-Jet is by far the simplest carb to set-up and tune. Anyone with a 3rd grade education and $12 worth of K-Mart tools can be a Q-Jet expert any day of the week. I have taken the time to completely go through a T-Quad and make all the adjustments on it on a 340 Demon. I got it to run very well, but in the same amount of time I could have redone 10 Holleys and gone just as fast. The T-Quad does have some neat features, but it is just too complicated and has too many parts. I'd rather pound nails through my skull than put any Carter carb on anything I own. |

What all does the TQ need? What is the model number on it? The number will be on the driver side rear throttle plate. |

It's basically a shell. No floats, no squirter, doesn't look like much for linkages internally. Like nothing. Surprisingly there are jets in it. Number is 2-312 Thanks! CJ |

That 2-312 does not tell us much; on one of the front "feet", there will be a number stamped in, 4 numbers usually followed by an "S" or an SA". I sent you a PM; I could use a "parts" TQ. |
