Hi everyone, I am in need of a windshield for a 66 signet. Where is the best place to look? Is used my only option or can I order a new one? Thanks for any help.

You'll have to find one of those "old school" shops. We have one here in
Salem and they can get or 'make' anything (they did a good job on a 1930's coupe a year back). The guy was able to locate a brand new windsheild for my 4-door Valiant when most 'mainstream' places said that those were 'discontinued'... his source said they had 4 in-stock in Seattle....

Ask around and see who the classic car community goes to...

That windshield is still available new. Call several auto glass shops, and get pricing, it varies greatly. Some places might tell you they don't do cars that old, but you can ask for a "cash and carry" price. That's what I did. Paid $180, and had a friendly body shop, do the install for $40.

Thanks for your help, I just finalized the purchase of this car today. It needs a windshield to pass the inspection.

Where are you? I have a good one that you can have for $50 bucks. No cracks, not even any white border caused by seperation of the panes.

I am in Salem, Or. 97305.

Let me know if that works!
