The electronic ignition box that is mounted on the drivers side inner fender of my 73 Duster is leaking. It still works but should I replace it? Where can I get one?

Find an auto parts store that sells Standard Motor Products. Ask for LX101.

LX-101 is the four pin ECU. I just bought LX-100 which is the 5 pin ECU. Both are Standard Bluestreak ECUs. Advance Auto had to order mine.

Either the 4 pin or 5 pin will work the same.

Yep, and we had a discussion about how the 5-pin is replaced by the newer 4-pin and functions just the same.

On his '73 yes, if the second resistor in the dual ballast and the associated wiring are good. Newer vehicles with the single ballast resistor cannot use the old 5-pin module.

Post subject:  Price difference between ignition modules

I was about to purchase an ignition module and ballast resistor from Rockauto and had these choices:

Standard Motor Products LX101T $ 20.79
Standard Motor Products LX101 $ 45.79
AC DELCO C1900Z $ 49.00
Airtex 6H1064 $ 45.00

Why is the "t" series so much cheaper? Is there any real improvement with the other brands?

When it comes to ballast resistors, the Standard Motor RU12T is $2.25, compared with RU12 at $6.83. Again, what is the difference?

"T" suffix stands for "Tru-Tech", Standards low-price/low-quality "Harry Homeowner" (or "get it out the door and sell it") brand of parts. Don't buy "T" parts.

So the "T" stands for Trash, not toilet!
