What transmission and rear end should I be looking for to use in my street rod project car? I want to use a slat six with some performance mods ( to be determinded ) and a stock transmission and rear end. I really want a manual transmission but depending on availability (and cost) I will consider auto. In any case which models do I look for and paired to what rear ends? Thanks, Tim |

Tim Thats kind of a broad topic. Auto Trans is 904. Remember it comes in a V8 flavor too but it wont bolt up you need the slant version. It will take about anything you can dish out too. As for manuals Ill leave that to other folks as its not my cup of tea. Rear ends 8 1/4 , 8/ 3/4, Ford 8 ", 8.8 are all ok and have different pluses and minuis. That should give you a start, Frank |
